Worthix Design System

Background

Role

When I joined the Worthix design team, worthix was transferring from system 1.5 to 2.0. At that time we don’t have a design system, so I think it’s a good time for us to build up a design system.

Motivation

1. Save time for user experience:

We have a very small design team. Having a design system could spare a lot of time for me to focus on users instead of pixels.  It also saves time for developers.

2. Global development team:

Worthix development team separate in both Brazil and the US. Having a design system could lower down the communication cost.

3. Ensure the consistency of design language:

In general, a consistent design could provide a good user experience and a design system could help designers keep design languages consistent.  It’s also a reference for new designers upcoming.
